City of London Street Maintenance Worker I - FULL TIME
The position of Street Maintenance Worker I is now open.

Requirements:

The employee works under the direct supervision of the Street Superintendent. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm.

The applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and at least a class B commercial driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within six months of the hiring date and must maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.

Per the union agreement, the pay range for this position is $21.00- $25.54 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus $1.50 per hour for possessing class B commercial driver’s license.

Position Description:

Job Duties

Supervises and performs the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.

Supervises and performs highway and street maintenance and repair.

Supervises and performs drainage maintenance and repair.

Supervises and performs maintenance of municipal right of ways.

Supervises and performs traffic control device maintenance and repair.

Supervises and performs snow removal and salting.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Operate heavy Equipment

Knowledge of all aspects of Department functions and operations regarding general highway and street maintenance and repair procedures.

The individual must demonstrate skill in decision making and communication, including the ability to communicate directly with the public and government officials. The individual may handle hazardous materials and be able to perform physically demanding labor. Deals with high traffic areas and lifts up to 100 lbs unassisted.

Ability to quickly and thoroughly solve complex problems and issues. Ability to operate all equipment of the Department including operate tandem truck, snow plow, bucket truck, salt spreader, roller, backhoe, front-end loader, tractor mower, paver, grader, chain saw and computer equipment.

Ability to meet City attendance requirements.

The position of Street Maintenance Worker I Part Time is now open.

Requirements:

The employee works under the direct supervision of the Street Superintendent. Part Time working hours an be up to 30 hours a week.

Per the union agreement, the pay range for this position is $19.09 - $23.21 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus $1.50 per hour for possessing class B commercial driver’s license.
